Adversity

SAM

Today was demoralizing. After starting against Oregon I was forced to sub off due to an injury and watch my team suffer. I think the exhaustion from the long week is getting to us. Teammates are arguing and in games and we don’t get the result that we would like. Hopefully we will give it our all in our game tomorrow and end the trip on a positive note.

Today was an absolute nightmare; although, our goalies Christian and Sam were absolutely phenomenal. But everything else was terrible. We were demolished in the game against Oregon. Tomorrow is the last day, it better be better.

All-Star Game

SAM

So far camp has been great! From playing in the All star game to being taught by the best coaching staff in the region I have learned a lot and become a better soccer player. I am looking forward to playing our rivals Oregon tonight and possibly scoring a goal.

Today was in many ways good but also bad. IT started off with the usual bad breakfast and then a concise training. Then good news came, I was invited to play in the All-Star game, fortunately I scored which should help me be picked. After that we had a game against Colorado. We made it difficult by letting them score first then Joe Mancini scored to make it even. The game finished one to one. Tomorrow will be harder and more important.

Let the Games Begin

SAM

After the second day of training i can feel the toll all the soccer is taking on my body. Tonight we play Utah and I hope I will be able to play because I might have pulled my groin. So far this camp has been great and I’m excited to play the rest of camp.

Today was another slow day at camp, just a light training in the morning and then a game at night. We just played Utah and unfortunately tied one to one. I gave us the lead but we gave up a penalty in the last minute. So now we move on to step it up tomorrow.

FIRST DAY AT CAMP

SAM

Today was my first day of camp. Driving through Linfield College was slightly intimidating because i saw all the regional coaches as well as the other players i will be competing against for a spot on the regional team. The rest of the day wasn’t too difficult because we only had one training in front of the regional scouts.

Today was the first day of my third regional camp. Regional camp is always a difficult competition. The feeling of being here is intense, knowing that you are always being watched and evaluated, not just on the field but off it also. The first day is always relaxed, just a light kick around. Tomorrow we play Utah and we begin proving that we deserve our title as regional champs
